Online linguistics program1/1/2024 ![]() This course is an advanced exploration of theories relating to the meaning and application of language use while considering contextual factors. LIN2607 and LIN4600 are approved electives for the Certificate in Diversity & Global Studies, and LIN4600 is an approved elective for the Minor in Diversity & Global Studies. Linguistics (LING) LING 600 Advanced Semantics and Pragmatics 3 Credit Hour (s) Online Prerequisite: LANG 500 or Applied Linguistics-TES元02 with a score of 5. LIN3010, LIN4600, LIN4620, LIN4680, LIN4930, TSL4080, and TSL4251 can double-count toward the ESL Studies Certificate. FO元880, LIN3010, and in lingua linguistics courses can double-count toward majors/concentrations or minors in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. Your Linguistics degree can be combined with another major/concentration, minor, and/or certificate. ![]() We also offer courses in the linguistic structure, history and dialectology of several languages (English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish). We offer coursework in the core areas of linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics), bilingualism, language acquisition, language teaching methodology, psycholinguistics, field methods, semiotics, and sociolinguistics. Linguistics program courses are taught by several departments (LLCL, English, Psychology, Communication & Multimedia Studies, and others).
